Span tag does not add border automatically.
You need to specify it using css' border property.
For example:
<span style="border: 1px solid gray">My Skills</span>
+ 3
Can you please show me the code, otherwise it's hard to help.

Use margin

When I wrote my answer, Deepak did not start CSS course so I suggested him to use inline CSS instead of external CSS because that might confuse him.
I am well aware about CSS and how it is used.

🔫 Rick Grimes thanks once again. I am just a beginner ..I think I should take it step by step.I will finish learning HTML and then move to css.

Rick, that would be great if you were dealing with html 4. But html 5 depends a lot on css.
CSS ain't that hard, just give it a try. It is not independent, it works in conjunction with html, so i would advise you to learn both of them side by side.
