Processing IDE https://processing.org Tutorials by Daniel Shiffman on his youtube channel The Coding Train https://www.youtube.com/user/shiffman/playlists?view=50&shelf_id=2&sort=dd Processing IDE was created with beginners/non pro-coders in mind and it lets you get familiar with java until you are ready to dive deeper. Many tools and libraries to get you up and running quickly with animations, GUI, video, audio, Computer Vision, networking, text to speech, hardware peripherals, 3D ecc.. possibility to create executables and android apps (also for VR). JS and Python modes are available in case you want to explorein those directions. All the technicality istaken care ofby the IDE leaving you free to create in code whatever you want. when you think you want to grasp the technicalities Processing is open source. I always suggest it as it was my gateway drug into programming.
