For the Indians here, how difficult is it to get job as a front end developer?

I have a BS-MS in Physics from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali but I would like to make my career in web developing. For the next 1 year I am going to learn required languages, complete projects and work freelance. Will it ensure me a junior front end developer? Please provide some useful tips. Thanks.
