Android studio is good but it's a heavy application and will take up a lot of RAM

my personal answer, is QEdit multilanguage support and can have root access. i've been using it for quite some time, ads kinda annoying but you can always buy ad free version.
but i've been changing my prefered editor to vim or its fork like neovim (the one i currently use). its almost feels like having vscode in android using plugin.
code completion, syntax highlight, formatter, its all there. the only downside is its terminal/command prompt based (i'm using termux), not the simplest one to setup, and the actual use is so different than many editor since its not using gui element other than the terminal itself.
but its really worth it once you get the hang of it
