is there a problem in DOM & events or is it my idea

guys, someone tells me why if I run the code that is in "DOM & events" in the form validation lesson it works for me "try it yourself" but I try to test the same code in html and js code documents as external and it doesn't Does the validation of both being the same work in the browser and does the validation of not being empty only work for me?

Create a new Web code bit, copy the HTML and JS file content accordingly to their respective section. Save the code bit, and then edit your thread and add a link to that code bit in your thread Description, in order for others to be able to analyse it and suggest something.
