How to stop lerning codes like verse and start anderstanding it

How bad to stop remmembering codes like verse and start anderstanding it i have that problem with hard subject like constructor of copying (sorry for english)

Usually when I learn something new I play around with it a lot, to understand why it behaves the way it does, then I go and write an explanation of how it works in my notes. You will have only learned it when you are able to explain it, if you are not able to explain why it works the way it does then you don't know it.
