Js vs other programming langs

I am learning javascript now, I know what is my goal by learning it. But time is changing today web developing is famous, maybe in future it will be not so famous as today. So my question is can I do anything with javascript that other programming languages do in any platforms, in different areas? I mean i ve seen a math problems were solved in different languages in different way, is it possible to do same things in real programming world? Thanks a lot.

JavaScript is not the only language you can use for web development. Around five years ago there wasn't really an alternative but now you can compile a lot of languages to WebAssembly (Wasm) which usually runs faster than JavaScript. Of course JavaScript is still the most used language for web developers but there are already frameworks written in Rust that are faster and produce smaller files.

Back-end web development is likely to be in the market for a few more decades. Learn Node.js and Typescript and PHP for that. And if you want to pursue application development, learning Swift (for iOS) and Kotlin (for Android) is the way forward.
