I'd personally not pick either. But Java would be preferred over Python.

Assuming the restaurant table management system project was meant to grow, scale, and needed to be performant, the code base would likely grow and involve various microservices.

Python simply isn't a language I would ever consider for any code base larger than a handful of scripts.

Yes I agree with David. I think I'd lean more to a Java script with react or angular than python. But of the two options you provided..python would be better than Java in this instance
