The affirmation of the HEAD tag is not really true
this affirmation: "The head of an HTML file contains all of the non-visual elements that help make the page work." Is false. The head show a title and a icon(logo). So some elements in the head tag can be seen... Sorry my bad English please

You can't work with <head> tag elements

I think what was meant is that, icon or fav-icon is shown in browser address bar, and page title is shown in browser tab/title bar. But none of those were meant to be shown in the page view area.
However, it is also true that we can put some contents inside the document head; and have them rendered in page view area, but that was out of the norm, because a page's content was supposedly written in document body : )
