Why use ruby or python when you know java ?

Is there diffrent applications of these other languages ??

May be because they already have some code in those languages that must be maintened. May be they use them for fast prototyping. May be they use them as an embedded scripting laguage. There are many reasons this languages can be used with Java.

if java lets you do what you need to do, most probably a different approach would be less efficient. That doesn't mean you have to stop exploring and learning. You may find a ready made solution in python that you need to tweak and in that case some python knowledge will allow you to get things done quickly without needing you to reinvent the wheel from a java perspective.

But then why companies ask for experience in languages like java + python + ruby when java is the ultimate language ? @Vishal

@aniket sharma. Ultimate means it used in many places like Web (JSP), Android App, also Desktop app (NetBeans ,JavaFx).

I think java is ultimate language no need to learn similar other console language.
