You need to own a Domain Name like "your-domain.com" and some kind of Hosting, where you upload your files at. Your Domain's settings should point to your Hosting's IP. After you upload for example your index.html file to the root directory of your Hosting, you should be able to visit the page by typing in "your-domain.com" easy way in short : get access to an online hosting like "hostgator" , buy a domain name and upload your files

You need a server, to upload your files, and a domain to make it accessible to the public. You can get a domain name (.com, .net etc) from websites like Namechep, Bigrock and Godaddy. A .com domain usually costs around $10+ You can get a hosting account at Hostgator, Bluehost, etc. These are the most popular hosting services, and the shared hosting subscriptions start from $4/month. Alternatively, you can buy your domain from Hostgator/Bluehost as well, but I won't recommend it, form a business point of view. You always need to keep your services separate so you can migrate to a different host easily. Then, you'll need to connect your domain and hosting, so the files you've hosted on your server (this is what you buy from a hosting company) are viewable when someone types your website's name on their browser. You need to change the DNS settings in your domain account to achieve this. There are plenty of Youtube tutorials that teach how to do this. Or, you can just ask your hosting and domain guys and they'll help you. Then, upload your website's files to your hosting account by logging into your cpanel (you'll be given the username and pwd when you buy your hosting), clicking on file manager, and then upload. It's a pretty simple process once you get the hang of it.
