Why would you recommend your children to learn to program?

Apart from reasons like making money or having a funny job what are the reasons to learn programming for you? What are your experiences and developments if you learned coding? Why you think programming is important knowledge and skill?

For me, ability to program is highly correlated with logical thinking, which is a pretty good skill to have.
