why c is called middle level language?

why not

because it is portable (not like assembler) but it can be directly compiled to machine code. also it is middle level because it doesn't have some high level functions (for example methods)

Jakub Konkel XD it's closer to be low level language that's why they call it middle level, but tbh it actually is low level
