Mathematics or coding in challenges

There are too many questions on our computational skills than our coding skills in challenges. What do you think?

Exactly why I dont really do challanges, some codes are really unclean(cancerous) and plus in a real world context, we have calculators for math.

While it is true that the questions test us more on our interpretative skills on algorithms instead of coding techniques and methods, methinks the challenges have benefitted me a good deal when it comes to computation by mind.

They are beneficial for sure. But I think many other aspects of coding remain untouched

To become a programmer you must learn to think and solve code before making your own.
