Using Sockets on WAN

Question

Hey, is it possible to set up a server socket on my pc, and then connecting to the server from another network (other wifi).

I mean that: is it possible for someone who lives on another continent or whatever, to connect to my server-socket on my pc? if so, how can i make it happen? (what to change in the current code that works only on LAN?)

And are there any risks by exposing my server to the WAN? (Hackers etc..)

If you only want to share code then use liveshare extension of vscode. Vscode is great ide with great extensions.
