Which memory will be allocated for Live OS ?

Question

let's say
I have install windows 7 as main OS
And Kali linux as Virtual OS inside main OS on Virtual Box

And inside kali linux i booted another LIVE OS from my USB drive ...

So which memory will be get allocated for LIVE OS from USB drive or from Hard Drive ??

and what will happen to that memory after closing the Live OS and removing USB from PC ?

From my understanding LIVE OS would be allocated the virtual memory (memory allocated to your virtual OS/Kali).. As the newly booted OS lies in the virtual machine.. Also I don't think removing USB would affect it in any way..
