Honestly, most of the time I see people suggest to start with HTML. But from my perspective it's a bad idea. I strongly recommend to start along with actual programming language. Each language has its own specific niche. Some languages are better suited for web development, some for mobile applications, others for desktop etc. First, take a look at which languages are more efficient in which specifics. And then based on what you want to do, choose a language/languages and learn.
