"The Childrenâs Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") requires that online service providers obtain parental consent before they knowingly collect personally identifiable information online from children who are under thirteen (13). We do not knowingly collect or solicit personally identifiable information from children under thirteen (13); if you are a child under thirteen (13), please do not attempt to register for or otherwise use the Services or send us any personal information. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under thirteen (13), we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that a child under thirteen (13) may have provided us personal information, please contact us at info@sololearn.com."

Hello,
We generally don't allow anyone under 13 years old. Any exceptions to this are doled out by Sololearn and then (ideally) communicated to the moderators in the form of being added to the exceptions list ... Otherwise the account might be repeatedly deactivated by the moderators. You can reach out to the administrators at info@sololearn.com.
That being said, there are certainly days where I see things on this platform which would make my eyes bleed, so make sure your kid(s) know(s) to report inappropriate things as they come across them, block liberally, and take a break from the platform until things cool off for a bit. Sometimes it can take the admins awhile to properly address issues and our powers as moderators are somewhat limited.
I hope this helps.

Yeah, your son can code here. Though Sololearn is marked 12+ in the play store, I don't think one year(in this case) would make much difference. Just teach him how to use Sololearn efficiently and about using the forum before entering. You can refer the guidelines in the below post and make your son aware of these. Best wishes for your son :)

I don't enjoy saying this, but any public place on the internet is a risky place for an underage these days, not saying it is not for adults. Make sure your child is under your supervision and accompaniment in using any public service.
The DM service is one particular door open for "attacks" on underage, keep a lookout on that one.

Another question: can my son explore discuss? He's quite mature already, and doesn't trust anything online these days. I'm pretty sure he doesn't tell anyone personal info

I think this means it's OK as long as you make the account for him. But I'm not sure.

I sure wish I had had this resource when I was 11!
