Java or JavaScript?

Hi, I would like to code games but I don’t know which language to use, Java or JavaScript. My friend told me to use Java but I don’t know whether he was just saying it to shorten JavaScript, if you know what I mean.

Java and Javascript, both are much different from each other.

Javascript is mostly used in websites and Java is mostly used for developing apps and servers (backend).

If you want to make web games, then use Javascript
But if you want to make android games, you have to learn java (or kotlin).
