Operator ++ with strings or chars

Question

I got several questions in challenges looking like:
string s= "foobar";
s++;
What does that even mean? I'm totally confused with this and I have lost a few challenges because of thèse. Would somebody explain the meaning of this?

Is 's' is pointer ? I guess.
