Animated submit button is not animating upon click

Question

I saw this code for an animated submit button that turns into a checkmark once clicked. I am trying to find out why it's not animating once it's clicked on.

It flashes a colour when I tap it. Looking at your code, there aren't any key frames, what kind of animation are you looking for?

It's supposed to turn into a green circle with a checkmark marking that the submission was completed, at least that's what the source I got it from indicates.
