HTML semantic element

Question

Does html tag or element "span", besides summary and article, can be classified as semantic element since it has a meaning to separate in ceritain distance, or strech, etc.

The definition of semantic: "relating to meaning in language or logic"

So the clear answer is no, span is not a semantic element.
