personal experience - started with html & css to get me used to coding as they are pretty easy to pick up and are straight forward with the syntax. Once I was comfortable enough I moved to JavaScript. Taken aback by the strict syntax, I started to feel overwhelmed and almost gave up. I looked into some other languages, such as Java, C and C++, thinking they might help my progression but in fact was even harder to pick up. Then heard about python, and how much easier it is to pick up the syntax as it's syntax is pretty much plain English. After a couple months of learning the language and feeling more comfortable with programming and its basics, I jumped back to javascript and now I am picking up a whole lot more about its language than I thought I ever would. Now I've started learning other languages with ease and comfort such as PHP & MySQL. Everybody is different in their learning curve. If you want to try java, go for it, if you get stuck at any point or feel like it's too much, my personal recommendation is to go back and try html or Python esp. since it's more closely related to being an actual programming language (with certain java concepts in mind such as OOP- object oriented programming. Hope this helped! :)

For beginners like myself, HTML is easier to pick up. If you learn HTML, you can then focus on Java, while making a friend's website, for example. Gained experience with HTML is better and then focus on Java.

my advice - if u have no experience of writing codes start with html u don't necessarily need to learn everything in html unless you are interested but html gives you the experience of learning languages. then move to other languages.

if u are new to programming, Java Will be quite boring and complex for you. html will be a perfect start for you because it's easy and uses simple English language.
