Confusing attribute access and method call

Question

Perhaps some of you have already had the answer to what I want to share, but I think its always good to exchange anyway.
From my point of view, I find it a bit difficult to have a simple 10 or 15 sec reflexion in challenge to answer this code on the link.
They re always welcome if someone have better approaches.

If you created this post to to ask why (cause obviously this isn't a question) , the puzzle master tries their best to confuse you, knowing you're on a countdown timer. IMO the function names `f()` here is the first to trigger confusion.

Ipang thanks for your answer, yep.. I remember today from my job implementation using Py, I used the module signal for having countdown like you told here
