How is one alignment more specific than another alignment?

it has been pre-built by the text editor developers on how to present the text alignment depending on users selection and the pre-built code consists of the text position in terms of x and y coordinate with pixels and there spacing size.

average maths and good coding knowledge is all required to create something like notepad
