[DISCUSSION] Code Challenges
Hello There! Code Challenge was always a fun and interesting thing on sololearn. Playing Challenges was not only fun but it also teaches a lot. but nowadays peoples are getting bored from challenges. Why is this Happening? Is old Challenge System was Better? [ Do you think Sololearn should add Bonus Points again? If Yes! So Give them a suggestion to Add it again. A wave of users suggesting same thing can force them to add it. ]

My Opinion:-
Sololearn Current Challenge system is Bad, We get nothing from Draws, Bonus points are not available. They should also add milestones. for eg. Winning 100+ Challenges a day gives Extra Bits or Xps.

There are several reasons 🙂🙌
1. Playing 10+ challenges daily should reward extra XP or milestones to keep users motivated.
2. Replace repetitive multiple-choice questions with occasional fill-in-the-blank or code output challenges.
3. Add logic-based or hands-on coding challenges to match modern coders' focus on technical skills.
4. Reintroduce bonus points and add milestones like “Win 100+ challenges in a day” for Bits, XP, or badges.
5. A wave of user feedback could encourage Sololearn to bring back these features and make challenges exciting again.
✅ Sololearner give time for this so sololearn must give some reward so it can be more fascinating 😉🎈

Completely aggre with your opinion 💯
When 2 experts play challenges with each other, most of the challenges get draw and we get nothing.
I would be great if more users get attracted with challenges for their knowledge.
I have limited active challengers in my challengers list with whom I play daily.
Don't know the reason why people loosing interest in playing challenges.

I agree with all 5 points you mentioned

Gulshan Mahawar, Yes bro. Well said!
I also face the same Problem. That's why i don't play Challenges with you. when SL will add xp for Draws than we will play Storms again😂

Thanks for starting this conversation, Alhaaz! 🙌
Yup, agree with you.
My opinion for the reason people are getting border about the challenges:
1. No awards for draw - This is the most important point for me, and also the reason I get borer as well. That's why I don't play much challenges now 😂
2. No bonus point - When you get everything right, but don't get anything, it feels bad. There should be 5xp for winning, and 5xp if they got everything correctly.
3. Same question repeating - This makes the user bored, because they know the answer and no brainstorm here. If there was unique logical questions, where the user will type the answer, that would be really interesting and engaging.
4. When someone declines/expires a challenge, you get nothing after your hard work. Specially, it feels bad if someone doesn't response after a big storm.
I agree with all the points of NextJS Boi and Gulshan Mahawar as well.
SoloLearn should fix it, because challenges are one of the most important part of the app.

Alhaaz ÿëäh, that would be a fun suggest for them, I agreed that if they add those things in , challenges won't be feel bored

This idea would be worth persuing if XPs were to have some real meaning or virtual currency value. Through the years Sololearn has tweaked the XP system so much that any intrinsic meaning that XPs may have had now has been diluted to be even less. Simply enjoy participating on Sololearn, gain knowledge and ignore chasing meaningless XPs.

Umm... i agree with you

Shihan, Amazing Opinion!
Your All 4 mentioned point were Point to point and absolutely Important. These 4 Changes can change the current state of Code Challenges.
The main point is, I forgot about Challenges Decline and Expire which you already mentioned. That a nice idea. If someone send a Strom and the other user decline it or not able to accept than the sender must get some sort of XPs as compensation.

Brian, Yah, it True that Xps don't have any value and feels meaningless. but still Code challenges are worth it for knowledge and enjoyment, So there must be some changes for making code challenges more fun and meaningful.

Advanced Challenges: Include Python tasks involving libraries like NumPy, pandas, or Flask.
Real-World Problems: Focus on automation, data analysis, or web scraping challenges.
Interactive Code: Encourage users to create and share mini Python projects as challenges.

I think this challenge system is fine but bonus points are better

Doing a code challenge is a great fun and getting bonus points for something actually unique boldens her or his coding enthusiasm. So I would like Sololearn to add such great features for the users past, present and future.
Adding a goal must be a feature that would help us track all our efforts and open new ideas of programming in various field and know why am I coding
