Why Downvote

I have a question in mind why do people downvote questions you don't like the answer don't up vote it that's it why you downvote it and show disagrace

I think whatever you don't like plz dont downvote it, It actually does demotivate the person. He eventually may stop answering and stop learning so please whatever you do don't downvote. Since really hats off to the person who don't downvote.

A down vote will make it go to the base of the thread it is used for inappropriate answers. Simple!
But regrettably, people don't know when and when not to down vote

E.g. when people spam in Q and A.

When information is given that is wrong. Not could be or might be but is wrong for sure that answer needs to be down voted. The reason being that you should not give answers if you do not have a valid answer. That being said. Just because you might not agree does not make an answer wrong. It has its place but should be used with care.
