first have a small portfolio. then gain customers (and thus expand your portfolio in order to attract more customers). you gain customers by offering your work and promoting your skills with your portfolio. in the beginning, offer your work for a low fee (or even for free) just so you get the experience in. once your customers are satisfied, they will recommend you and you can charge them a higher fee. good luck. and don't forget to learn and what your priorities are along the way.

@Thanh Le like that answer....Ask a business owner "Are you happy with your web presence? Do you have a mobile app?"

learn what you do best, learn well. master it and become a freenlancer. Write and sell tutorials, make videos and get followers on youtube. there are so many ways. but you need to be really good at what you do....PS and AI can make you a millionaire, but you need to put in the effort.

@Thanh Le, from what you have stated you are already experienced in C# etc. If there is a particular aspect you are expert in or confident in consider (as somebody else already said) creating a course for a site like Udemy/Cousera/Sitepoint. That way you could fund your own training in web techologies. Also, have you not considered backend web development? since your experience in C# would be valuable in that area. Your question is a little vague but remember "web" is far, far more than what the user ever sees. Good luck.

freelance as a designer and web designer and/or developer? you would combine what you learn with earning a living out of it. another way is to create tutorials on YouTube or udemy for a small fee.
