How good is an online certification for getting a job?

i know, the knowledge and experience that you gain from a community like Sololearn is huge and it can't be measured in a certificate. But do the employers realize that? Or do they value any online certifications at all? and what about nano degrees?

Most of the tech firm doesn't care about online certification. they only care about if you are experience enough on their required technology. this is just my personal thoughts.

Often times, it depends on what job you're going for. For game programming, making a profile and showing what you've made is HUGE. Basically, if you have a professionally-built profile, you've got a good shot at being hired. For software development, such as Google, they primarily look at your professional degrees and what name you've made for yourself. For cybersecurity/pentesting, I'm unsure; a lot of that sort of work is based off of how well you can use a set of pentester tools. For any low-grade programming job, they would consider hiring a self-taught computer programmer, so long as they can pass a programming test (provided by the company).
