Another analogy: think of it like building a house.
The HTML takes care of the structure...the layout of the walls , the floor etc.
Then you use CSS to decorate your house - paint the walls, put down carpet choose some lampshades...
Finally JS is what actually makes your house work - your electricity, plumbing and heating.
