PUG vs HTML Which language is comfortable for MarkUp?

While I was studying Html, I saw strange code like following p.result_number  | SearchResult : span. Total #[strong.point_color_03 300] Found It was Pug! I saw it for the first time(maybe I couldn't even recognize before) I like jquery. Pug will good for me? If you using or used Pug, please give me opinion. (PS. I love jquery because when handling elems, js is too verbose. document.getElementById('demo').addEventListener('click', handler); // I really hate this long code... )

I read something about Pug, and it seems to be the "next version" of Jade. Jade is an HTML preprocessor, so... you should use Pug and jQuery? If you already know perfectly the syntax of Javascript and HTML... yes, otherwise, never! Jade (or Pug) is used by many web developers with jQuery, for example: https://www.youtube.com/user/DevTipsForDesigners I think that the syntax of Javascript is more clean than jQuery sometimes, i like to write code in pure JS ^^
