I recommend you stop learning Java and switch to c# ... Luckily, they are very similar languages and almost everything you already learned applies to c# as well..

when you have a good handle on c#, get unity3d and start a tutorial on that.. You will make an android game in no time!

I plan to finish my first android game today. I have to move the area I post the score and change 1 control location. 3 more sound fx I want to add and then it is going on the playstore. I have been working on it for a few weeks.

I am close to releasing my first android game. A bit more work to do on it, but I used Unity and C# for it. Very glad I did. I have made this same game in Java for PC and it was much more difficult

GameMaker is where I started and it taught me alot of beginner game design and programming. Game maker is a solid 2d game engine with its own programming language. also has drag and drop functions so beginners don't have to code anything themselves.

Unity is a full fledged game engine capable of much more.
