example <footer> <p> posted by NYU </p> <p> Contact Information : <a href= "mailto:info@sololearn.com">Sololearn </a> </p> </footer> used for defining a footer for a document. can contain information about contact, copyright, authorship and sitemap.

Yes @Malcolm but it could be found at the top of the page. the <footer> tag is just a name but not a method that can define position.

The footer tag is used to put some contact information or copyright stuff at the bottom of your webpage. But will not automatically put it at the bottom. The footer tag is just used to indicate that the information is supposed to go at the bottom of the page. You have to do the work☺
