What do you think?

I really think variable naming is up to the developer and there might be common ways to do but in the end, its the developers decision.

Depends on the developer and up to you.

as soon as you work with coordinates your opinion would be right, as it would confusing. otherwise x would be a standard one-letter variable, and would not be poor coding.

it doesn't matter what letter or word you use to identify the variable, in machine language it's replaced by a cpu register or a memory location identified by numbers only.

i and x won't be used in real world programming anyway! But I was thought with 'i' rather than x also
