Java SE 8 Programmer I (Oracle Certified Associate) Exam

Hello, I've booked my OCA 1Z0-808 exam (Sept 22nd) the other day and started studying. Bought the study guide written by Jeanne Boyarsky and Scott Selikoff (google it) and according to them, all you need to pass is an existing basic understanding of Java and this book. Oracle offers a week-long course which covers everything, but it costs £1500 and I can't afford it right now. And frankly, I don't think it's worth that money. I was wondering if anyone here has sat this exam. Do you have any tips?

Maybe the Oracle practice exam gives you an idea if you actually need the course. Did you try it? https://blogs.oracle.com/certification/test-your-java-knowledge-with-free-sample-questions https://education.oracle.com/ (Site was down when I tried, so I can't provide the exact link now, but I'm sure you'll find it).

OCA is "Oracle Certified Java Associate" while OCP is "Oracle Certified Java Professional"... OCP is higher than OCA... ^-^

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have tried a few dummy tests and I don't think it's worth paying for that course...
