By best do you mean successful?
Or just the best in programming?

As if 1 is your choice, Bill Gates, etc come to mind.
But if 2 is your choice, Bjarne Stroustrup, etc come to mind...

Well for 2, I have no Idea, as you cant decide who is best - for example you will face a difficulty in deciding who is better in this case - Guido van Rossum ( Python's Creator ) or Bjarne Stroustrup ( C++'s Creator )...

Of course. money have no match with excellence but money follows excellence.
For eg, Steve jobs had no other great talent except his visionary approach.Eventually he made loads of money through apple.

every languages is best in the world. you are won't compared with each other, some time generation is matter.
