Javascript in Unity is a bit different than javascript for the web. Here's a list of some differences: http://wiki.unity3d.com/index.php/UnityScript_versus_JavaScript Due to these differences, and since you're a beginner whom may want to learn a language that can be used almost everywhere, I recommended C#. Note that choosing the harder option does not make something less beneficial. Also note that web javascript is still a must learn, it's just unity's version that I'd say is optional. They have a tutorial on some of the differences between javascript and C# in unity, I suggest checking it out: https://unity3d.com/learn/tutorials/topics/scripting/c-vs-js-syntax

Definitely c#, it is more popular and can be used in other engines such as cry.

I recommend C#. Although it's entirely up to you.
