Cin explanation

i've been learning C++ and i cant quite understand cin if you can please
explain it to me in a simple way so that I understand

cin is a type of input command which lets the user enter the value of a variable. Although it can only store integer,float and character value but not string. Therefore cin is the basic yet useful input comand for entering a single value to variable.
