Is it good to add a Developer signature to the footer of all the websites you make?

when u mention Ur name or the name of the company for which u r working then u may specify your name.. that is a signature. And it's good to provide your Signature at the footer..as "Developed by Developer_name"

But what if the owners of the website doesn't allow me to add my signature to the footer.

it depends on your client.. u can use meta tag for author and description attributes.. but those won't be displayed to the webpage..
