@Irwin actually I could be wrong: I edited my answer. The mistake is a grammar typo in the question (Bobs father instead of Bob's father).

You wrote "Bobs father"
Grammatically speaking could be interptetded as "a father named Bobs" but definitely NOT "the father of Bob" for which you should have typed "Bob's father"
