Is It Good To Build 2D Android Games With C#?

Hi, im really really new in C#, im just starting, but before i go further more, my main goal learning code is to build an android games with it.
1. Is it good choice to use C# for android games?
2. Do you have any other advice programming language to support my android games soon?
i want to make android games with UNITY

Java is typically used for Android, but since C# is similar it might be a decent idea.
