The first program?

I'm am currently in High School and I'm learning pre-ap comsci. My first program was java and I got interested as I learned the basics. one day, I was reading an article about the Java and how some school want to use another introductory program like python. What do you think is the best program to start off with ?

you only need to practice, when you are more advanced whit you logic you can program in each language

I started with Python. It's really intuitive. You also need to know what you want to do, for example if you want to develop websites, applets, games...
