Headings

Question

In the above example content in the headings like h1, h2 .... differ in sizes I mean fonts. But without specifying the text format like bold how can they differ.

You can change their font, color, background, etc... etc... etc... They can differ however you want them to differ. The headings tags more or less just give you appropriate relative sizes from one another for easier formatting of your article/blog/whatever.
