I suppose the ease of learning is relative to the learner.
I hear many people say that it's easy. I've learned the previous versions of it, and yes, it was easy, but I already knew how to program prior to learning it, so it's hard for me to gauge it. The first language that I learned was C++ and then C. I would say the most difficult thing for most people is logic and problem-solving skills. Syntax is syntax all day long, but if you learn syntax, how good is your ability to put that to use toward a logical solution to problems? Kinda of like learning English. It's easy to learn the alphabet, but how good can you put those letters into words/sentences/etc... to convey your message?
Personally, I hate Python syntax and think its design is horrid, but that's only personal opinion, and its heavily bias because I learned the C languages first.
So in conclusion, I think you'll be fine regardless of which language you pick. Each are good in their own respective ways. I would focus on whatever is going to best compliment what you plan to do in the future.

Python is very easier to learn, but its important you learn the logical.
If you learn the logical, any language will be easy to learn.
How python is very simple, its a good idea to learn.
