What programming language was the first ever invented?

Binary... ? Following Wikipedia it seems to be the Assembly Language: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_programming_languages Since in your tag there is: "scripting-language", the first scripting-languages were born with the shell scripts, the oldest it is probably the Bourne Shell: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bourne_shell

Lo è... i mean, it is! I can't imagine myself to write Assembly for the rest of my life, but there are superheroes who done that for us. :)

I think the machine language (binary) is the most obvious, but it's interesting to see how the programming languages had evolved and evolve, isn't it?
