Anon made a very good point that's worth listening to. Since you're just starting to learn how to program, it's going to be difficult at first, kind of like learning a new spoken language. However, even if you don't understand all of it immediately, keep reading through the language. Once you're done, practice what you learned, and then go back and read the language again. This time when you read it, write down anything you don't fully understand yet. When you're done reading, use what you wrote down to go and research the things you didn't understand. Learn everything you can about those things, and then go practice them by writing a program that utilizes it so you can see it in action. Don't be afraid to change things and break things so you can see what changing certain things does to affect the program. Rinse & repeat that process and you'll be well on your way to becoming a great programmer. In the end, it's worth the hard path it takes to get there.

Yes go head... And be patient to understand and don't stop. Best way to learn programming is coding. So code what ever you think. All the best.

You don't have to learn any other programming languages to learn any other programming language. So if you want to learn Python, go ahead and jump head first into it. Best of luck to you.

I've been researching what language to learn first. It appears that Python is very popular first-language to learn because the language is easier to understand and there are many employers looking for Python programmers.
