What's is purpose to use @font-face property in CSS3? Anyone explain to me, please?

@font-face is used to insert a custom font into your website. Used as:

@font-face {
font-family: customNameOfYourFont;
src: url(urlOfYourFont.woff);
}

This way you don't need to use 'web-safe' fonts. (the standard fonts such as Arial and Verdana).
