sololearn, like many websites, teaches the basics/fundamentals for the languages on here. as someone who is new, the basic courses are actually pretty helpful but i know that if i want more advanced courses i can go to other sites that specifically teach advanced courses after i completed the basics here. however on here for example, if i choose to do challenges and i think it is fun BUT am aware that i'm learning and sharpening specifically memory/knowledge rather than just for the leaderboard i can actually learn quite a bit. in code playground, i can take notes from other people's codes and i can take pretty good tips for coding from q&a. to me, sololearn is quite effective for beginners who want to learn more

It's better to think of Sololearn as stackoverflow with embedded interactive textbook. You get to learn all that a textbook can teach you and you also get the community's support as you go further with what you learned from said textbook.
