Your view on A.I Artificial Intelligence. Grey Area

Question

Would you say A.I has to be self aware and think for its self to be labled A.I?

I see alot of people saying there working on A.I which is "programmed" to think for its self but is it really 😏

i have a strong beliefs that A.I that is self aware cant be accomplished by just code 😳.

whats your thought?

A.I. Is still being developed by many companies so that it could think almost everything by its own ,AI is like a program which can further write more programs , so it simply means it can think on its own . Coming to your point even if AI is self aware it can still be accomplished by a code because AI its self is made by a code . Actually we write a program by keeping In mind different conditions that what will it do it in any case , here it doesn't means that it can think .
E.g.
Consider the robot that was discovered 4 months ago , that robot has an ability to change its bait , it is actually designed to help people during some emergencies , The robot just analyzes the surroundings and then takes a decision based on the program it is made of ...

Do you still think that a code can't accomplish AI .

when you talk about an ai based hardware like jarvis, then it is not just the program itself.. It is the hardware used like raspberry pi.. i have seen a video which is used to make an ai mirror which used google tts api and raspberry pi with a monitor.. so alone just the programming not all may be some neural technology to be understood to think ai as humans do and respond with emotions

all im saying is that a machine will only do as its programmed to do and make decisions on what it already knows.

isnt javis off iron man??

i dont think its possible to make a robot think without it knowing how to think, using just code.

so untill a machine can think on its own without being spoon fed its just as intelligent as my toaster 😀.

Jarvis is not just an application.. and when i say an application then there are some system requirementsfor the application to run and jarvis alone cannot run without having systems..
