What people think coding is:

What people think coding is: type some stuff, the stuff does other stuff, you go to the next thing. What it actually is: I was trying to make a box expand and collapse for nearly and hour and it turns out I'd forgotten to type 1 (one) symbol and now I'm crying at midnight clicking a box over and over again because it finally works. )))

Coding is where one can try harder and harder unless the goal is achieved. The more you find the errors in your code the more you gain insight in it. And this is the way professional programmers have been doing since long to attain the highest level of their coding skills. When you are just reading a book regarding any programming language or just watching video tutorial, your coding is not going to be that strong, unless you are putting your own efforts into it. When you start coding you may find it hard at times but when you repeat and repeat, you get to the every nook and corner of your code. And then you try to validate every parameter of your code so that none of the code is left with an error. So for me coding is the name of "repeated efforts to attain the goal". And I think a code without an error is a copied one, not your original one with full of efforts.

What regular people think coding is: 1. People writing thousands of lines of 1's and 0's 2. The matrix 3. modern magic What programmers think coding is: 1. Becoming the virtual overlords of the computer and making it do your bidding 2. Spend half that time debugging the above 'biddings'. 3. modern magic (that you tell to regular people).
